A new series inspired by the fleeting beauty of spring in London's Swiss Cottage, exploring how changing light transforms a familiar place.
Every spring, I make a visit to Swiss Cottage in London to see the cherry blossom. The display lasts only a short time, yet it transforms an ordinary street into a place of celebration. People pause beneath the trees, take photographs, and gather to experience a fleeting moment that returns just once a year.
I am fascinated by the way the trees changed as the light shifted throughout the day. The delicate pink flowers seemed to glow, soften and dissolve into the surrounding landscape. These paintings explore the warmth and gentle movement I experienced while standing beneath the trees. They are a reflection on how nature invites us to slow down, notice the beauty in familiar places, and share those moments with one another.
